Toldo supports Rui Costa's choice to leave

Just on Thursday night Manuel Rui Costa, Portuguese midfielder, 
repeated at the end of Euro2000 he wants to leave Fiorentina. And 
there is no way to persuade him to stay.
"I explained to the club directors I want to change club. And I sent 
them an official request through my agent. I don't feel myself a 
Fiorentina player anymore. I want to leave, no doubts, and if this 
means to face some troubles, well, that's a matter my agent will take 
care about!" Rui Costa said.
On Friday, Francesco Toldo, Fiorentina and Italy goalie, said he 
supports the choice of his club mate. "Obviously I am very sorry about 
his decision, but I respect his will, and under some aspects, I agree 
with him" the keeper said.
"Without Rui Costa, an outstanding player, I guess it won't be 
possible to strengthen the team for the next season" Toldo added. And 
to improve the team was one of the clause the goalie asked his 
president Vittorio Cecchi Gori to drop the several bids he received. 
So after Gabriel Batistuta and Manuel Rui Costa, could be the Italian 
goalie the next player to decide to leave the club.
